Surgical Procedures for the Treatment of Obstructive Sleep Apnea
Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) syndrome is a serious health problem that affects a large number of individuals. Research in the field has improved our understanding of the disease, and a holistic management of the OSA patient is becoming widely adopted. When continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) and dental appliance have failed, surgical procedures to improve the posterior airway are performed. When chosen correctly, these procedures have tremendous benefit to the airway and can potentially cure this devastating syndrome.
